1) They can both grieve for Christine's death.
2) Meg DID offer to go with Raoul to save Christine after the Phantom kidnapped her.
3) They both like to drink (in the London production of Love Never Dies, Meg clearly put alcohol in her coffee!)
4) I could see a bit of sexual tension when they were in the bar.
5) They both thought Christine shouldn't have been with the Phantom.
6) They can both really be loved by each other since Christine cheated on Raoul & didn't really love him & Meg was ignored by the Phantom.
7) Meg could help Raoul with his gambling addiction & debts, since she clearly has a load of money with the Phantom's sideshow.
8) They both hate the Phantom.
9) Despite the fact they interacted in Phantom once (see reason number 2), Raoul was charming enough to give her hand a kiss!
